Your heel should fit snug with no slipping. The midfoot of the shoe under your arch and over the top of your foot should be snug but not tight. You should have enough room in the toe box to wiggle your toes. Our shoes are made to fit directly out of the box. They do not need to be broken in.

People are more than twice as likely to buy a shoe that is too small than too big. Clues that your shoes are too small or narrow include - foot cramping or "falling asleep" or the formation of blisters and calluses between or on your toes.

Feet typically get bigger with age. We encourage you to have your feet measured every year. Women's feet often become a half-size (or more) larger after pregnancy.

Your left and right feet may differ in length or width as much as a full size. Be sure to measure and try shoes on both feet, and always buy shoes to fit your larger foot.

While the incremental enlargement/reductions between the sizes and widths are industry standards – not every manufacturer starts with the same measurement for their model size.

Rockport and Cobb Hill use the same Brannock Device measurement along with several taped forefoot volume measurements as a starting point for both men’s and women’s shoes.

It's near impossible to find men's 15 shoes in extra extra wide that aren't meant for aging feet (as opposed to teens and 20yo), have a roomy toe box, are comfortable AND stylish. This parent thanks you, because I've been on the hunt for a month. We needed a shoe that could work for dress casual and this brought our search to an end.

This is a fairly substantial boot and that's what I sought and found. Very pleased with this style and I imagine durability will be as good as other Dunhams I own.
United StatesNot quite the Dunford Chukka that this model replaced
I've been wearing Dunford Chukka boots for years. I was surprised to see that the particular model I've been wearing has been discontinued and replaced with this Byrne's model. The new model is about 90% of the old model. Where the old one had one leather upper that wrapped all the way from the front to the back with no seams until the heel, this one is made of several panels. More panels = higher likelihood of water seeping into the shoe. Also the strip along the top of the ankle was made of leather in the original. The new model ankle top strip is a synthetic material that I know from experience will eventually crumble and rot off a whole faster than leather. Still, overall this is a pretty good boot. It's comfortable pretty much right out of the box. It does a good job protecting my feet from the elements.
